Shilajit is no longer just the small jar you would spot on a shelf in an Ayurvedic shop. You can now pick from traditional resins, easy-to-swallow capsules and formulas built for athletic performance.
That makes finding the best Shilajit brand in India harder than it looks. The cheapest jar is not always the better deal, and a bigger fulvic-acid percentage does not settle the question on its own.
A smarter approach is to understand exactly what you are paying for.
Start by choosing the type of Shilajit
A single-ingredient resin and a blend of Shilajit with other Ayurvedic herbs are two quite different products. Pure resin suits people who want Shilajit in its classic form. A blended formula makes more sense when it is designed around a specific goal, such as improving gym performance.
Capsules are a third option. They are simpler to take and work well for anyone who dislikes the taste or texture of resin. Pick the format that fits your reason for using it.
Lab testing counts for more than a purity claim
Shilajit’s composition changes with its source. Scientific reviews also note that it can hold a broad mix of minerals and trace elements, which is why quality control matters so much here.
Independent analysis has detected heavy metals in some Shilajit samples as well. So labels like “pure” or “Himalayan” should not be the only thing you rely on.
Ideally, a brand will tell you how its product was tested. A recent lab report tells you far more than a bold line on the front of the pack.
Five Shilajit brands in India to compare
These products take quite different approaches, so comparing them by use case works better than forcing a ranking.
Rasayanam
Rasayanam is built around the pure-resin approach. Its Himalayan Shilajit is a single-ingredient resin sourced from the Himalayas. The brand states 75% fulvic acid and says the product is tested for heavy metals and other contaminants by Eurofins, a third-party lab.
If you want an unblended resin with a clear sourcing and testing story, it is one of the stronger options to look at.
Upakarma Ayurveda
Upakarma also sticks to traditional resin and avoids multi-herb blends. The brand says its resin has more than 75% fulvic acid and is tested for purity at a NABL-accredited laboratory. The offer is simple: a resin-first product aimed at everyday strength and vitality.
Kapiva
Kapiva’s Shilajit Gold Resin goes in another direction. It is a multi-herb formula made for men who want support with strength, stamina and physical performance, and not a plain single-ingredient resin.
It combines Himalayan Shilajit with Nagori Ashwagandha, Black Musli, Swarna Bhasma and Gokshura. The Shilajit used is stated to contain over 70% fulvic acid, and the product is aimed at men focused on gym performance and endurance.
Kapiva also leans on testing and product-specific evidence. It says each pack comes with a lab report covering heavy-metal testing and the minerals present. The Shilajit Gold formula has been covered in a 2026 review article on its possible role in supporting athletic performance. A separate eight-week, randomised, placebo-controlled study in healthy men reported a 30% improvement in lifting performance and roughly a 40% rise in total testosterone from baseline.
This is less about buying Shilajit on its own and more about buying a formula designed around fitness goals.
Dabur
Dabur is one of the best-established names in Indian Ayurveda, and its Shilajit range is mostly capsule-based. Dabur Shilajit Gold pairs purified Shilajit with other Ayurvedic ingredients, including Ashwagandha, and is positioned around physical strength and stamina, not as a pure resin.
For people who like the convenience of capsules and the familiarity of a heritage brand, it remains a relevant choice.
Baidyanath
Baidyanath offers a bit more flexibility, with both capsules and resin in its range. Its Ayurvedant Shilajit Resin is sold as Himalayan Shilajit with a stated 72% fulvic acid.
That makes it worth a look if you want a heritage Ayurvedic name but still prefer resin.
How to judge value
Do not compare only the number next to the rupee sign.
Begin with how much product you get, then check the recommended serving. A smaller jar can last as long as a larger one if the daily dose is lower.
The formulation changes what you are paying for, too. A single-ingredient resin and a multi-herb performance blend are not the same product just because both contain Shilajit.
Testing adds to value as well. Batch-level information is something a cheaper but opaque product may not offer.
So, which Shilajit brand is best in India?
It depends on what you want from it. If pure resin is your priority, Rasayanam and Upakarma make that positioning especially clear. For a more targeted Ayurvedic formula, Kapiva Shilajit Gold takes a specialised route and has product-specific clinical research behind it.
If capsules suit you better, Dabur is a familiar alternative. Baidyanath is worth considering if you want an established Ayurvedic company’s heritage along with a resin option.
Price can help narrow your shortlist, but it should not make the final decision for you.
